PokerStars, Full Tilt, Absolute Poker and UB Domains Seized

It looks like it will be a tough weekend for U.S. online poker players.  The U.S. Attorney’s Office in New York indicted founders of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker and UB.com.  While details are sketchy at this time founders and executives involved in PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and Absolute Poker were indicted.  The indicted included Scott Tom, the alleged main cheater in the Absolute Poker cheating scandal.

There were also at least 75 bank accounts seized and domains involved with the businesses.  Visitors to the websites of PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker, Absolute Poker or UB are now greeted with an FBI message.  If you don’t see it yet it will propagate shortly and you will.

PokerStars also banned U.S. players.  If a player was seated at the time of the ban it appears they can stay and keep playing.  At least players were not kicked out of tournaments.  A U.S. player wishing to sit gets a message that their country is banned from playing real money.

I will keep following this story.  It will be a very interesting weekend to say the least.
