I got bored slumming low limit Omaha8 and Stud8 cash games at Carbon Poker. Typically I played Omaha8 and Stud8 tournaments but there are not many of those either at any U.S. friendly sites. I got sick of playing high rake split limit games far below my usual limit. I started playing spades online for money for something different.
Worldwinner has over 40 skill games that can be played for real money. Some involve cards such as solitaire, hearts and spades. Others are trivia games such as Trivia Pursuit and Jeopardy. There are also quite a few word games such as Wheel of Fortune and Hangman.
The one problem with the games is the high rake. A $1 tournament is really a $.77+$.23 entry fee. Their comp program returns about 15% of the rake paid. They also have a 100% match deposit bonus that only needs to be wagered one time to clear. Each reload deposit is also a 100% match play so the bonuses and comp program make up for their high rake structure.
Another benefit to playing these games is that you can use Paypal to deposit and cashout. Cashouts take about two business days by Paypal. If you decide to deposit by Visa and Mastercard it takes about two weeks to get your check and you get hit with a $1.75 check fee. Considering poker rooms are charging $15-$35 for checks $1.75 is nothing.
Unfortunately there is no poker at Worldwinner. There are some poker type games but nothing like online poker. Hopefully it will not be too long before online poker players in the U.S. can use Paypal to deposit at newly regulated poker rooms. For now though players in the U.S. have few options and maybe some low limit skill games can help pass the time.
